About the Accommodation

Welcome to Laurel Canyon! Serene, chic, and centrally located, your minutes from all that LA has to offer. The layout features an outdoor eating area and beautiful back yard complete with a large hot tub, fire pit, and grill. The 4th bedroom doubles as an awesome rec room with a full-size pool table, movie projector, and 400 game old-school-arcade.

The house easily sleeps 8-10, BUT NEED MORE SPACE? Message me about the 3bed house next door that sleeps 6-8.

In Laurel Canyon you’re literally living on top of the world…or at least the top of LA! I’m so excited to open up our newly renovated 4 bedroom 2 bath airBnB to you. Nestled just off of famous Laurel Canyon Blvd, you cannot go wrong with this location. Head north to Studio City, south to WEHO, east to Hollywood, or west to Beverly Hills and you will be immersed in an area of LA that you’ll want to explore. Or stay put and jump in the hot tub, watch a movie on the projector, play some pool, grill, or go for a hike. My goal was to create a vacation home that has something for everyone: families, groups of friends, or anyone wanting to live out their Hollywood dreams…because living out your dream is what LA is all about.

The house itself has a massive open concept living area: high end chef’s kitchen with gas range, dedicated dining area, and a beautifully styled living room with big screen TV. There is plenty of seating and more than enough space for everyone to be together at the same time. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you’ll need to prepare amazing meals, and there’s a dishwasher and microwave for your convenience. Also, I’m a coffee addict, so there is a Nespresso in the rec room and a boiler, coffee pot, and french press in the main house.

The modern wood paneling in the front bedroom gives it a masculine vibe but the finishes keep it playful and chic. There is a smart TV, console, reading chair, and Layla Queen memory foam mattress. Fun fact: if the mattress is too soft, you can flip it over and sleep on the “firm” side…and visa versa. The second bedroom is fun and funky, with two twin memory foam Layla mattresses perfect for two kids, or two friends who act like kids, or a couple who need just a little space from each other… like 3 feet to be exact.

If you prefer some privacy, the primary bedroom is on the other side of the house and has it’s own bathroom with double vanity, standing shower, and soaking tub. Between the two sliding glass doors, windows, and skylight, this bedroom gets stunning light…that you can block with the blackout curtains when you need. The King bed has a Hybrid Layla spring and memory foam mattress that is double sided as well: one side is “firm” and the other “soft”. You’ll have your own smart TV, leather couch, walk in closet, and two separate entrances to the backyard and deck…arguably the best part of the property.

I say arguably because my favorite part of the house has to be the rec room. Formerly a boring ‘ol garage, now an awesome game room/bar/arcade/billiards room/movie theater/4th bedroom. This room is definitely the hangout spot. The lofted Queen bed has a Hybrid spring and memory foam mattress as well as in-wall reading light, outlet, and charging station. Below the lofted bed you have an old-school Pac-Man machine, but instead of just 1 game, there are over 400 vintage arcade games at your finger tips! The large couch doubles as another sleeping area as well as a movie theater because with the push of a button a screen rolls down and you have an AppleTV connected projector ready for you. If you were wondering, that’s Mark Twain and Elizabeth Taylor on the wall playing pool…which is something you should be doing because the restored antique pool table is incredible. We are one bathroom short of being a true studio (though it’s in the works), but for now the sink, microwave, and refrigerator make this space feel like its own little private apartment. Oh and there’s darts too.

Back to the backyard and deck. One of the best things about living in LA is being able to be outside year round. You can’t live your Hollywood Hills Fantasy without a Jacuzzi, or a hangout spot with a fire-pit, or a grill, or an outdoor dining table…so I made sure we had all of it. The backyard is truly a magical place that I know you will love spending time.

In terms of amenities, we’ve got you covered. You’ll have access to small, yet important, things like an iron, blow dryer, towels, soap, cleaning supplies, and a washer and dryer. The TV’s and projector are all smart and will connect you to all of your streaming services. There is even a charging station and Tesla adapter for your smart car in the driveway.

We have high speed internet, a printer, and plenty of places to set up shop should you want to work from home. There’s a pack ‘n play for families with little ones…or for “that friend” who always needs to be watched over by the end of the night. Basically we’ve tried to provide you with everything you could ever need to have an incredible time at this very special house. So, Welcome! I really look forward to hosting you.

Notes

In an effort to maintain a secure premises, there are visible exterior cameras monitoring all entrances/exits to the property, sides of the house, the back yard, as well as doorbells which monitor people coming and going. Cameras are ONLY on the exterior, and there are no cameras inside the house. Any Alexa/Echo/Smart Home devices with cameras have been turned off and covered with tape. If tape has been removed notify me immediately.

We are trying to balance privacy and security. There is a noise monitor in the unit and the back yard to detect if sound levels go beyond a certain level and can detect parties. THIS DOES NOT RECORD SOUND, just alerts us when the decibels get too high, especially after sunset.

NOISE

Because noise echos throughout the canyon, please know that…

  • Noise must be kept to a minimum outside at all times.
  • Absolutely NO MUSIC outdoors past sunset.
  • Any noise complaints will result in an immediate $1,000 FINE and possible eviction. (Yes, LA and AirBnB take it that seriously)
  • There are noise monitoring devices on property that will notify me of any parties or if the decibels get too high. (Tampering with these devices will trigger an additional $1,000 fine)

Thank you so much for helping us maintain the peace with neighbors.

Neighborhood

It doesn’t get much better than THE Hollywood Hills: you get to be tucked away in a little oasis AND in the heart of the city at the same time. You’re one street north of Lookout Mountain, one street south of famous Mulholland Drive. If you need a cup of sugar you can go ask your neighbor at Houdini’s House. Or go hike the beautiful trails nearby. Scenic drives to Beverly Hills are literally around the corner, or you can drive down Laurel Canyon and immediately hit Hollywood and West Hollywood (the LGBTQIA+ Mecca). Drive further north and you’re in Studio City. I love this area, and you will too. It’s everything you want when you visit LA.

Transport

LA is definitely a car city. Walking isn’t really an option because you are all the way at the top of Laurel Canyon. But we are so close to everything, an Uber ride is incredibly easy if you prefer not to drive.

If you plan to drink or party, 1000% get an Uber. LA is no joke when it comes to handing out DUIs.

You can easily fit two cars in the driveway, but I wouldn’t recommend more. It makes it really hard to pull out. Pulling out onto Laurel Canyon can be scary and you don’t want to be backing up into traffic at night as cars are coming around the corner. I recommend parking tandem in the driveway and using the little side parking spot in the front to turn around (a 3 point style turn) so you aren’t backing up into Laurel Canyon.

Always use the large circular mirror across the street to see oncoming cars from around the corner.

If friends want to visit it’s better to have them Uber over. They can park along Amor Street and walk UP or Laurel Canyon Pl and walk DOWN, but I do not recommend it (especially at night), because there are no real sidewalks along Laurel Canyon Blvd.

All of this sounds scarier than it needs to be, I just want you to have all of the information. With a max of 2 cars, you’ll be fine!
